As president for the European Region of the IAGG I present my deep sympathy at the occasion of the death of Prof. Henri Charles RAPIN (10-07-2008) to the family and the geriatricians of Switserland.

The merits of Prof.RAPIN for geriatrics, for the well-being of the older persons and his hsitorical battle againts pain are enormous and historical.

Let us hope that the next generations geriatricians will follow this unique example.
