Purpose: To study mental and physical working capacity lowering in aging.
Material and methods: There have been measured mental working capacity and physical working capacity in 380 people of mature, elderly and old age, additional examination by means of computer electroencepholography being performed in 138 among them.
Results: The beginning of mental working capacity lowering in male and female has been marked in the sixth decade but the tempo of this complex index in aging is higher in the women in comparison with the men. Physical working capacity decrease in male was demonstrated in the fifth decade and in the fourth one in female, downfall tempo of this parameter being higher in the men than in the women. We have determined the universal method of working capacity aging shifts in electroencepholography studies which demonstrated valid slowing of liability that is proved by bioelectric brain activity changing (slowing and decreasing quick rhythms on the background of the slow rhythms increase of interhemisphere asymmetry). We offer four methods of biological age determination (according to mental working capacity, physical working capacity, mental working capacity and physical working capacity, electroencepholography).
Conclusion: Mental and physical working capacity, bioelectric brain activity reflect heterogeneity of aging process and organism adaptive possibilities changing tempo. That allows to use them for biological age determination.
