THE ANALYSIS OF CONCOMITANT DISEASES IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (RА) OVER 60 YEARS OLD.

PURPOSE: to obtain the data of concomitant pathology in RA patients over 60 years old.
METHODS: Questioning of a consecutive series of patients with RA hospitalized in the clinic of Institute of rheumatology in 2004. 424 patients over 60 years old were questioned: 367 (86.5%) women and 57 (13.4 %) men.
RESULTS: The arterial hypertension was revealed in 346 (81 %), coronary heart disease in 217 (51 %), myocardial infarction in 30 (7.8%), stroke in 21 (4.7 %) of patients. Thyroid gland pathology was registered in 125 patients (29.4%), 66 patients from them required hormone replacement therapy. Second type diabetes was registered in 41 patients (9.6 %), a gastrointestinal pathology in 295 patients (69.5 %), a stomach ulcer was revealed in 170 patients, liver pathology in 271 patients, renal diseases in 87 patients (20.5%). Bone fractures in the anamnesis reported 74 patients (17.5 %), from them 35 patients had 2 and more fractures.
CONCLUSION: Among concomitant diseases in elderly patients with RА the first place have cardiovascular diseases, on the second place - a pathology of a gastroenteric tract and osteoporotic fractures.
